Foster

Fostering is one of the most important ways you can help the animals at Pet Adoption League. By temporarily opening your home to an animal in need you offer the one-on-one attention and loving comfort that only a home setting can provide, which is precisely what some of our animals need. It also opens up space in the shelter for other animals needing our help.

Here are some of the common types of pets that need foster care:

  • Bottle-baby kittens
  • Kittens too young for spay/neuter
  • Senior cats and dogs
  • Dogs that have been in shelter an extended time

How To Become a Foster Parent

Cat and dog in hats

1. Fill out our Foster Parent Form.

2. Once you complete the form, a Foster manager will contact you about the next steps to becoming a foster parent.

3. Come meet our pets and take home a foster friend.

If you have any questions about the process of becoming a foster parent please contact us.

Dog's Day Out

Not able to commit to a long-term foster? How about a “Dog Day Out?“

Come to our facility during regular office hours and pick up one of our adoptable dogs. We'll provide you with an "adopt me" leash and any supplies you might need.

(Must be at least 18 years old)
